The OCL 144 can be used to implement the connection from the AP (IM 304 1) ) to the first FUM subrack (IM 614 2) ) or between two FUM subracks (IM 614 to IM 614) via fiber-optic conductors (see Figure 1). Distances of more than 100 m can be spanned or decoupling can be implemented if the FUM subracks are installed in so- called I&C islands.
Applications exist that permit low-cost I&C solutions which also satisfy the stringent requirements of customers for time resolution and wire-break monitoring.
