Board SS5 is the master board for the PROFIBUS protocol SINEC L2 FMS. Corresponding to the specific configuration, it is inserted in one of the three CS7 module slots. A maximum of up to three boards per carrier module can be inserted.
The interface board has a serial RS485 interface according to the Profibus standard. It is floating. The interface is at the 9-pin sub D socket connector X5.
