Expansion Module IT42
The IT42  expansion module is used in conjunction with the PM4 processor board in the SIMADYN D system to process general technological open-loop and closed-loop control tasks, such as hydraulic controls or closed-pressure controls.

The IT42 expansion module is plugged-onto the PM4 basic processor board using a 96-pin plug connector. The expansion module power supply is powered through the basic processor board. 

The expansion module has 4 analog- and 16 binary inputs/outputs, as well as 4 integrating, floating analog inputs with voltage-frequency converters.

  • Binary outputs (connector X8)
    • 16 non-floating binary outputs
  • Analog outputs (connector X7)
    • 4 Outputs with associated ground, non-floating
  • Analog inputs (ADC, connector X7)
    • 4 Differential inputs, non-floating;
    • Input range -10V +/-4LSB to +10V+/-4LSB (1LSB=4.88mV)
  • Analog inputs (VFC, connector X6)
    • 4 Differential inputs, floating, integrating, V/F conversion;
    • Input range: -10 V to +10 V
    • Resolution depends on the integration time
      • up to 17 bit 
      • 13 bit for 1 ms integration time
      • 15 bit for 4 ms integration time
      • 17 bit for 20 ms integration time

  • 3 front panel connectors X6, X7 and X8 for the input- and output signals 
  • 4 analog inputs (ADC) 12-bit resolution, typical 10-bit absolute accuracy over the complete temperature range 
  • 4 analog outputs 16-bit resolution, 14-bit monotone, typical 13-bit absolute accuracy over the complete temperature range 
  • 4 integrating analog inputs (floating, VFC converter) 17-bit resolution, typical 14-bit relative accuracy over the complete temperature range 
  • 4 external trigger inputs for VFC analog inputs 
  • 16 binary inputs 
  • 16 binary outputs with P24 connection for the external supply
Module can be used only with PM4 is P32 processor modules with low-priced R3081 processor
